ABQ Mosaic Festival 2026

Make it stand out

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

In this 3-day course, Kelley uses each student’s personal mug as both inspiration and foundation, guiding participants through every stage of mosaic creation—from concept and design planning to palette selection, material exploration, precision cutting, and final assembly. By the end, each student will have transformed their mug into an 8" square mosaic, set in cement mortar within a wooden frame.

  • Andamento as Language (Hammer & Hardie and Smalto Focus) with Anabella Wewer

    March 9 - 12, 2026 | 9AM - 5PM

    Location: The Groove Artspace
    309 Gold Ave SW, ABQ

In this 3-day course, we will learn cutting techniques with hammer and hardie, working with a variety of materials, and emphasizing posture and precision. We will also be experimenting with smalto while learning how its properties and cuts influence movement and texture. With these foundations, we’ll dive into creating tesserae intentionally shaped to explore andamento as visual language.

Prior knowledge of andamento is required. All tools, including hammers, hardies, and nippers, will be provided.
