    A part of Artscrawl, First Friday of March. Various local artists showcasing their glass works. Live music, food, and drink.

  • Intro to Glass Blowing with Doug Ostroff

    July 4 OR 5, 2026 | 11AM - 4PM

    Doug Ostroff will introduce you to his mobile glass studio and will demonstrate the basic process of glass blowing and sculpting of this wonderful material that will be around 2100 F degrees.

    One day precursory class for the 2-Day Deep Dive Glass Blowing with Doug.

  • 2-day Deep Dive Glass Blowing with Doug Ostroff

    July 4 & 5, 2026 | 11AM - 4PM

    ‍ ‍

    Doug Ostroff will introduce you to his mobile glass studio and will demonstrate the basic process of glass blowing and sculpting of this wonderful material that will be around 2100 F degrees. Students will have the opportunity to make a cup and a chile pepper with an instructor. Doug has 25 years of glass blowing experience and has been teaching glass blowing for 10 years to students age 12 to 85 years old.

  • Fused Mandala Flowers with Karen Shatar

    July 5, 2026 | 10AM - 3PM

    Design a mandala using a stencil, pattern or your own design.  Placing glass powder onto base glass with small straw or designated tool to create pattern to cover the glass.  Fire to full fused.

  • Exploring Ancient Glass: Pate de Vere with Dori Settles

    July 6 - 10, 2026 | 10AM - 5PM

    Location: The Groove Artspace
    309 Gold Avenue SW, ABQ

    ‍ ‍

    Hands-on class introduces students to pâte de verre, using finely ground glass powder, frits and binders to create colorful, thin, and often translucent pieces. You’ll learn various approaches to working with glass materials and molds while being encouraged to experiment and find your own style.

    Students will provide their own dust mask or respirator, everything else will be provided.

  • Free Artists Talk with Dori Settles: Her work and journey

    July 10, 2026 | 5:30PM - 7:00PM

    Acclaimed glass artist, Dori Settles, will talk about her work and artistic journey. On display will be students’ completed pieces from Dori’s Pate de Verre class.

  • FABULOUS Stained Glass Kaleidoscope with Linda Guernsey

    July 11 & 12, 2026 | 10AM - 4PM

    With precise cutting, assembly and soldering, you will learn to make and decorate a kaleidoscope.  You will learn to make your color slides to create your beautiful, unique, colorful design. 

  • Bright Bowl-Overs with Lavae

    July 16, 2026 | 1PM - 4PM

    ‍ ‍

    These little fused glass bowls trap light and color. You'll make two 6” x 6” bowl overs. So fun to compose the colored shards on a clear base sheet. They'll be fired twice: fused and then draped in the kiln.

    A private collector’s home, with an insider’s peak into how they built their collection and their home to suit their collection.

  • Decorative Glass Art: House Tour

    July 21, 2026 | 10AM - 12PM

    Location: Northeast Heights

    Glass has been decorated since it was first formed.  An ABQ resident in the Northeast Heights has collected over 2000 pieces of art glass from the Victorian era to today in preparation for an upcoming book, "Glass Decorative Techniques: A Historical Perspective."  The tour will focus on how artists have decorated glass through different time periods and how the use of glass techniques changed because of new discoveries and societal expectations.

  • Artists Lecture with Scott Sucher: Working Dichrotic Glass

    July 23, 2026 | 6:30PM - 8:30 PM

    Enjoy a guided discussion on how to cold work dichroic glass into objects of beauty.  Whether dichroic cubes or sheet glass, this material can be worked into almost any shape by an imaginative artist with the right tools.  This presentation covers the tools and planning a project to include selecting the right type of glass.  It also covers the cutting, grinding, polishing and gluing of the glass pieces to create that work of art.  It doesn't matter if you are a newbie or experienced glass artist, you will discover tips, tricks, and techniques to expand your capabilities.

  • Funky Art on a Pole with Mitch Berg

    2-day welding and fusing unique yard art workshop!

    The first session will take place at Mitch Berg’s south valley Fuego Studio, selecting, designing and welding metal scrap to form a sculptural base for your work.

    The second session takes place at The Groove Artspace, where we’ll fuse glass to fit your sculptural vision!
